Joe grew up in Fleta, Alabama riding four wheelers, hunting, and working on ol'cars with his dad. After, high school he attended Troy State on a full scholarship. Ya, your right, what in the hell were they thinkin! Well, needless to say, it didn't last long. About the time Joe started playin around a good bit, the ol'class attendance started to suffer a little. After playin solo for a while, he called on an ol'highschool buddy of his and a fellow college enrollee and started a band(Joe Wright & The Nekked Gunnmen). After having the named misspelled everytime, it was changed to The Joe Wright Band. "One time we showed up at the bar and the sign said Joe Wright & The Necking Cowboys. Ya, that sucked. It was definitely time for a changed." As far musical influences goes, there are many. A big fan of all music, Joe grew up listening to CCR, Metallica, Bocephus, Otis Redding, Bobby Bare, Waylon-n-Willie, Dwight Yoakum, Keith Whitley, Bride, Buck Owens, and many others. His favorite of all time is Bobby Bare. "I'd say he has probaly had the most impact on my style. Cause he could go from a rock-n-roll song with a bunch of loud guitars, to a tear jerker with the steel guitar and fiddle. I like our live shows to be high energy and entertaining. And that's what he used to do. Raise some hell and not just get up there and sing. I don't care if ya like our music or not. If you don't have a good time at one of our shows, you're probaly legally dead!"
